Mountain Avens can be found flowering in the Burren between June and July. They are native to Ireland. Mountain Avens grow in a prostrate fashion. They are evergreen perennials. Mountain Avens produce white, solitary flowers, 25-40mm across. They usually have 8 petals and the stalks grow 2-8cms in height. Mountain Avens can found on rock ledges, cliffs, grassland and limestone pavements in the Burren.

The Mountain Aven is another beautiful Burren flower and abundant when it blooms. I photographed these two, appearing to be chatting with each other, in one of my favourites spots to photograph in the Burren, at Poll Salach, near Fanore.
